 Presentation

Under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi, the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi and the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture will co-organize an International Conference on Soil Classification and Reclamation of Degraded lands in Arid Environments. The Abu Dhabi Soil Survey Report will be launched at the Conference.

 Objectives

To launch the Abu Dhabi Soil Survey Report.
To discuss and review classification of soils and land use in the arid environment.
To examine advances made in soil salinity mapping, monitoring and land reclamation in degraded irrigated agriculture ecosystems.
To review the impacts of the use of marginal water in agriculture and landscaping.
To identify research development needs and utilization of the soil survey database and classification.
To bring together scientists, professionals and decision-makers to share knowledge and information on land use and planning.

 Scientific Sessions

  • Soil Survey and Classification Strategies and their use in different agroecological zones.
  • Advances in soil salinity mapping, monitoring and reclamation.
  • Land use planning and policy implications.
  • Use of marginal quality water in agriculture and landscaping.
