This project aims to protect public health of the Gaza Strip and its natural resources through the restoration and rehabilitation of Wadi Gaza as a recognized natural reserve and coastal wetland. A comprehensive master plan for Wadi Gaza will be developed. The Wadi will be cleaned, rehabilitated, greened, fenced, and protected. The pollution originating from the discharge of wastewater and dumping of solid waste will be controlled and minimized. Access roads along the western part of the Wadi will be rehabilitated and developed and a check dam will be rehabilitated / constructed. In addition, an operational management plan for Wadi Gaza ,as a nature reserve, will be developed ; a legal and institutional structure/collation will be proposed and supported to protect and operate the area.
