Résumé
Cabo Verde is a small Island located in front of the Sahel Belt with an arid and semi-arid, hot and dry climate with scarce rainfall and 25oC on average. The effects of climate change, irregular and low rainfalls threatens the sustainable management of the mostly marine and mountain eco-systems, livelihoods and food supply. We propose an enhanced Sandwatch programme to strengthen the scientific monitoring and critical evaluation of the problems facing beach environments as a means of contributing towards the reduction of environmental degradation and climate change. The second plan will focus on pastoralist knowledge and climate change that will build UNESCO’s work on ILK and scientific knowledge to enhance climate change adaptation, biodiversity management and sustainable development

Paricipating Organisations (Funding) : Contributions to the Regular Programme
Budget : US$ 27 450
