Résumé
Approximately 1.6 billion people live without access to the electricity worldwide and energy demand is still one of the highly emergent issue today. Although, majority of population depends on fossil energies, alternatively, renewable energies are much more promising to contribute social and economic development and remain one of the major goals for many national economies. Particularly, green technologies have a crucial role in the electrification of rural areas in poor economies for a sustainable development. Apart from large scale investments and technology transfer at the international level, reinforcement of local- community based institutions and organizations through entrepreneurial support such as cooperatives and partnerships might be a favorable strategy in promoting of energy access in developing countries. The development of energy opportunities led to a debate about how these energies could be distributed to the large and small numbered customers. On this occasion, business models propose a vital program to establish efficient ways to meet with customer needs. The traditional business model is based on delivery of energy generated from great centralized powers to the customers. This conventional approach is not an effective solution to distribute energy to all regions particularly remote and distant territories in developing countries. Finding new ways and approaches to provide customers with cleaner energy is vitally important to solve energy access in poor economies. Therefore, this study investigates the great importance of small, customer and community side renewable energy production in compatible with social, economic and environmental progression and moreover, it explores the value of alternative viable business models to produce and transmit energy by illustrating and proposing alternative cases and ongoing projects in developing countries.
