Résumé
Over the last decade, epigenetic modifications of chromatin have beenconsidered to determine the response to abiotic stress of various plant species such as Arabidopsis thaliana, Solanumlycopersicum and Pisumsativum. Many studies have examined the role of epigenetic modifications in the drought stress response and identified novel factors, that affect the plant’s response and ability to survive under water shortage. One of the factors possibly involved in the epigenetic regulation of water stress response in A. thaliana, is YAF9a. YAF9a is one of two orthologs to Yaf9 of Saccharomyces cerevisiae which participates in multiprotein complexes NuA4 and SWR1. Previous data suggested yaf9a-1 knockout mutant plants respond to water shortage differently from wild type and possibly because of pre-adaptation. This study aims to investigate these findings further. Our results reveal several lines of evidencethat indicateyaf9a-1mutation leadsto pre-adaptation to drought, but additional research is required to examine the roles of YAF9a in plant response to drought stress.
