Résumé
With the objective of determining the effect of the ecological variation and times of the year on the quality of fiber of alpacas Suri, in relation to the quality of the pastures of the Research and Production Centers (CIP) Chuquibambilla and La Raya ; fiber samples were taken from 40 male two-year-old alpacas and pasture samples by time of each CIP ; the fiber samples were analyzed in the Fibers laboratory of the South American Camelids Special Project through the OFDA 2 000 and the chemical composition of the pasture samples in the Pastures and Forages laboratory of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Universidad Nacional del Altiplano using the Weende analysis method, the results were analyzed in a randomized complete block design and the Pearson correlation was used to estimate the effect of the quality of the pastures on the quality of the fiber. The results show greater fiber fineness in alpacas from CIP La Raya (21.60 ± 2.07 μm) than from CIP Chuquibambilla (22.52 ± 2.15 μm) (P ≤ 0.05), shorter fiber length in alpacas from CIP La Raya (3.94 ± 0.33 mm) than from CIP Chuquibambilla (4.06 ± 0.37 mm) (P ≤ 0.05), with variation between epochs (P ≤ 0.05) ; the comfort factor was similar in both ecological media and times of the year (P > 0.05) ; the yarn fineness of alpacas from CIP La Raya (23.06 ± 2.68 μm) was lower than that of CIP Chuquibambilla (23.88 ± 2.52 μm) (P ≤ 0.05), and was similar between epochs (P > 0.05) ; the index of curvature was lower in alpacas of CIP Chuquibambilla (15.88 ± 4.21 ° / mm) than of CIP La Raya (18.32 ± 4.14 ° / mm) (P ≤ 0.05), with variation between epochs (P ≤ 0.05) ; in the chemical composition, dry matter (74.15 %), organic matter (66.09 %), neutral detergent fiber (59.20 %), ether extract (4.48 %) and ash (8.61 %) were higher in CIP Chuquibambilla pastures than in CIP La Raya (P ≤ 0.05), crude protein percentages were similar in CIP Chuquibambilla (8.74 %) and CIP La Raya (8.28 %) (P > 0.05), in all cases with variation between epochs (P ≤ 0.05) ; the correlation between the percentage of proteins with fiber length (r = 0.886) was very high positive. It is concluded that there is an effect of the ecological variation and epochs of the year on the quality of the Suri alpaca fiber and a direct relationship between the protein content and the fiber growth.
