Résumé
Irrigations in the province of Arequipa have inadequate management and practices with
respect to the amount of water used to irrigate crops, and the absence of appropriate
databases for users and water licenses in relation to what is cultivated. In the
investigation, volumes of water needed for crops in the irrigation of the Bajo Cural were
obtained, this has been made based on the parameters identified in previous technical
documents and also in the reference and current evapotranspiration calculations, being
able to identify the differences between the effects of both in the volumes of water
needed ; To achieve this, information was collected from users, agrarian cadastre,
hydraulic infrastructure and meteorological information for August 2017 to July 2018,
corresponding to our study time, based on which the reference evapotranspiration was
calculated using Penman-Monteith and current evapotranspiration through SEBAL
processed by GRASS GIS, this was supported by surveys to farmers in order to
recognize in what points the crops were planted and to be able to extract the values of
current evapotranspiration, thus obtaining the water demand of the crops, these values
were analyzed with the irrigation efficiencies calculated through gauging and finally a
database was created that could relate the information ; according to the calculations
used with Penman-Monteith, 4485.99 mm would be required, according to SEBAL it is
equivalent to 4510.83 and the one corresponding to the current irrigation block license
is equivalent to 4739.65 mm, so it has to be estimated that the volumes through SEBAL
are more efficient in relation to of those calculated with Penman-Monteith.
