Résumé partiel
The Northeast is characterized as a region that has low rainfall, which hinders agricultural production. In dairy cattle, the main activity carried out by producers in the “Alto Sertão Sergipano” region, one of the main foods used in animal nutrition is corn, both in the form of grain and silage. The silage brings the characteristics of a bulky food where it has good acceptance and high nutrition for the animals, being the main food offered during the period of water scarcity. Thus, it aimed to select maize genotypes with forage potential in the “Alto Sertão” of Sergipe. The experiment was implemented in the municipality of Graccho Cardoso - SE, at the Experimental Farm of Embrapa Semiárido. The design used was incomplete blocks in a 6x6 square lattice, using 36 treatments (genotypes). Each experimental plot has two lines of 4 meters spaced 0.20 x 0.80 representing the final stand of 55,000 plants per hectare. Planting was carried out at 10 cm depth with one seed per hole. Irrigation was not used. The foundation and cover fertilization was used the fertilizer 10-30-10 and ammonium sulfate, respectively. The application of insecticide and herbicide was carried out. Analysis of variance and biplot graphs were performed for the variables plant height, stem diameter, plant weight, average fresh weight, average dry weight, dry mass index and forage weight.
