The objectives of this study were to determine the genetic systems and mechanisms of inheritance of some important characters and to identify suitable parents and promising hybrid combinations. A six parent diallel cross, including reciprocals, of wheat was tested for agronomic and quality traits. Statistical analysis were performed on data for each trait using combining ability analysis of Griffing Method I, Model I, diallel cross analysis of Jinks-Hayman on variance analysis of full diallel table. Percentage heterosis and heterobeltiosis were also performed. According to results, suitable parents and combinations to be used in breeding and selection methods were determined. Additive and dominant gen effects were estimated in hybrids for all traits. Additive gen effects and high narrow sense heritability degrees were estimated for plant height, peduncle height, spikelet number, grain number per spike, protein percentage and sedimentation value. Reciprocal effects were determined for some crosses with respect to observed characters. The values for heterosis and heterobeltiosis were found positive all traits except for heading time, canopy temperature, protein percentage and sedimentation value. It was found that, the best suitable parents were Harmankaya 99 and Müfitbey for yield and quality and the promising crosses were to be obtained from the combinations of those parents with other parents.
