In the present work, a molecular and morpho-agronomic characterization of olive accessions of the World Olive Germplasm Bank (BGMO-IFAPA) has been performed. Those accessions came from Lebanon and neighbor countries. Molecular characterization has been performed using 96 EST-SNPs (Expressed Sequence Site-Single Nucleotide Polymorphism) markers that are being recently introduced in the identification scheme of the BGMO-IFAPA. This molecular characterization included some accession pending of being planted on the BGMO orchard. This molecular characterization allowed the identification of 101 different genotype, with 51 of the showing a unique genotype. Among the unique genotypes, 21 belonged to the accession set that is pending of being planted at BGMO-IFAPA. The set of 96 EST-SNP marker was very efficient at uncovering synonyms, homonyms, possible redundancies and different management errors from the original and/or recipient collection. The analysis of the genetic relationships among cultivars studied showed certain clustering by geographic origin of the region studied (Lebanon and neighbor countries), that were clearly separated from the cultivars used as controls, i.e., ‘Arbequina’, ‘Frantoio’, ‘Hojiblanca’, ‘Koroneiki’ and ‘Picual’. This together with certain observed clustering by fruit size, might indicate the occurrence of local selection partly drive by the mentioned fruit size. The morphoagronomic evaluation performed showed also a great diversity, comparable to previous evaluations of the BGMO-IFAPA. In this way the ANOVA analysis showed that more than 74% of the sum of squares was due to cultivar influence.
