Descriptif
Objectives of the Study
This research aims to analyse the linkage and their impact among urbanization, land
surface temperature and human health, using GIS and Remote Sensing techniques on
Landsat images. Following are the objectives of this research ;
• To study the change in urban sprawl and its dynamics in Jaipur city of
Rajasthan.
• To identify the land surface temperature distribution pattern and temperature
anomalies in the urban area using satellite imagery for different periods.
• To develop the linkage between urbanization and LST variation and
comparison of temperature with nearby surrounding areas (Peri-urban and
rural).
• To assess the impact of temperature change and future climate change on
human health.
Structure of the Thesis
The thesis is organized into six main chapters along with reference and appendices.
Chapter I describes the outlines of the research topic related to the remote sensing
data, LST and heat stress and also the objectives of the study.
Chapter II begins the review literature outcomes of the different topics related to the
LST, land-use and climatic information related to the heat stress.
Chapter III provides the description of the study area.
Chapter IV provides the methodology related to the LST, land-use, indices, and heat
stress.
Chapter V explains the results and discussion of the study.
Chapter VI provides the conclusions and future recommendations.
