Objectifs
An investigation
entitled "Effect of different levels of salinity and sodicity of irrigation water
on various growth parameters of mustard and moth bean crops in the Indian
arid zone" was undertaken at the Post Graduate Department of Botany,
Government Dungar College, Bikaner during rabi 2007-08 and 2008-09 for
mustard and kharif 2008 and 2009 for moth bean crop with the following
objectives :
1. To study the germination and growth attributes of mustard and moth bean as
affected by different levels of salinity and sodicity of irrigation waters.
2. To study the grain and straw yield of mustard and moth bean crops in various
saline and sodic waters.
3. To analyse the quality of grain / oilseed and straw / stover of mustard and
moth bean crops grown in saline and sodic waters.
4. To study the effect of different saline waters (ECiw) on the soil properties.
5. To study the effect of applied sodic irrigation waters (RSC) on the properties
of soil.
