Objectifs
The present study aims to cover the following objectives. i) to know the geographical personality of the Bijapur district. ii) to analyze the land-use pattern of Bijapur district. iii) to assess the existing water resources of Bijapur district. iv) to analyze the rainfall variability of Bijapur district. xix v) to examine the existing minor irrigation tanks in Bijapur district. vi) to analyze the drainage network system of Bijapur district such as stream orders, length, bifurcation ratio, basins and density etc., vii) to identify the new watersheds and suitable- locations for watershed development. viii) To suggest some methods for harnessing the rainwater to overcome the problem of water scarcity through watershed development programmes in the district. ix) To give some guidelines for the integrated watershed management in the district.
