Résumé partiel
An investigation was planned to find out electrolytes and metabolites during moderate and hot ambience in Sonadi sheep ageing 1-4 years (Males and Females). The electrolytes included were calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, potassium and chloride and metabolites were cholesterol, glucose, creatinine, total serum protein and urea. The Mean±SEM values of serum calcium (mg%), phosphorus (mg%), magnesium (mg/dl), sodium (mEq/L), potassium (mEq/L)and chloride (mEq/L) duri ng moderate ambience were 11.125±0.29, 6.577±0.37, 3.126±0.11, 137.249±3.07, 5.835±0.13 and 101.08±2.80, respectively in male sheep whereas the Mean±SEM values of serum calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, potassium and chloride during moderate ambience were 9.925±0.33, 5.649±0.17, 2.627±0.10, 128.333±2.03, 5.125±0.16 and 94.567±2.41, respectively in female sheep. During hot ambience serum sodium and chloride were increased significantly (p<0.05) than moderate ambience while serum calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and potassium levels were decreased significantly (p<0.05) than moderate ambience. In present study the effect of sex on serum electrolytes were also studied. All serum electrolytes levels were found higher in male than female sheep.
