Objectifs
The present study is thus proposed to accomplish the following objectives :-  To characterize the pre-project status of the groundwater in the Panjab University Campus.  To evaluate the occurrence of groundwater in relation to geological conditions in the research area. 28  To study the depth to water table and its seasonal and long term fluctuation in the study area.  Evaluation of hydrogeological and hydrochemical regimes of the study area.  Delineation of aquifer groups on the basis of borehole logs, study of different hydrogeological parameters / characteristics of aquifers to evaluate their potential.  Critical evaluation of suitability of groundwater for drinking and horticulture purposes.  To identify and quantify the cumulative impact of the artificial recharge scheme on groundwater regime.  To suggest maintenance and monitoring methods of artificial recharge structures in the study area to restore or maintain groundwater resources in the area.  To prepare a post-project environmental monitoring program to ensure the proper working of the RWH structures constructed.
