Objectifs
The selected objectives are as follows : • To prepare the fungal culture filtrates (FCF) of Sclerotium rolfsii • To check antifungal activity of selected biocontrol agents and FCF against S. rolfsii and Aspergillus niger fungi. • To induce resistance and tolerance against biotic (pathogen) and abiotic (water stress) factors in groundnut by seed germination, pot assay and foliar spray treatments with elicitors. • To estimate various biochemical assays i.e. Phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL), peroxidase (POX), β-1, 3 glucanase, nitrate reductase (NAR), nitrite reductase (NiR), nitric oxide (NO), catalase, superoxide dismutase (SOD), total phenol, protein, carbohydrates, chlorophyll, lignin and ethylene content after the plants treated with elicitors as well as untreated plants. • To study the total phenol profiling by HPTLC and total protein profiling by SDS-PAGE. • To study the lignin accumulation histologically in elicitor treated and untreated plants. • To study various yield attributes such as height of plant, pod number, seeds/pod, pod weight, seed weight and oil content. • To study percent germination, vigour index and aflatoxin contamination of harvested F1 seeds from elicitor treated and untreated plants. • To purify and characterize S. rolfsii FCF for identification of active compound.
