Résumé
1. To check the existing conditions of infrastructure of various natural resources in the dryland areas of west Bengal and assess whether these conditions are good enough or not for sustaining livelihood of the people residing in the region. 2. To perform a dynamic optimization analysis of forest dependency to see whether the people of drylands are aware about sustainable use of natural resources and to examine the alternative sources of livelihood available to the people of drylands. 3. To see whether the growth rates of resources and growth of income from resources are converging or not. In other words we want to see the pattern of growth of resources in the drylands of West Bengal and to have some idea on its possible future impact. 4. To see how the people of drylands are valuing the major natural resources on which they are mainly dependent for their survival.
