Objectifs
he investigation in question purports to delve
into the following aspects of the agriculture of the Region
as a whole and each Zone therein independently :
(1) to study the relative contribution of each Zone in the
Region to the drought-prone territory of the State ;
(2) to estimate the growth rates in cropped area, output
and yield of principal crops ;
(3) to quantify the degree of intra-Zonal variations in the
growth rates of output ;
(4) to bring out the inter-crop variations in growth rates
of output ;
(5) to peruse the level of and changes in instability in
cropped area, output and yield of principal crops ;
(6) to probe the sources of output instability ;
(7) to find out the linkage between cropping pattern and
the relative instability in yield ;
(8) to explore the relationship between growth and instability in agriculture and identify the determinant
factors.
