Résumé
The present research work is to study the spatio-temporal changes in
the agricultural Productivity in the study region, during the period of last
two decades from the geographer’s viewpoint. This broad objective can be
broken into the following main components.
1) To trace the factors responsible for the changes in the
agricultural productivity in the drought prone region of
Maharashtra.
2) To study the changes in the general land use pattern in the study
region.
3) To study the changes in the cropping patterns in the study area.
4) To study the agricultural Productivity in terms of
a) Ranking coefficient (M.G.Kendall’s Method)
b) Index ofProductivity (Bhatia’s and Enyedi’s)
c) Shafi’s Modified Productivity coefficient Index
d) Agricultural Productivity based on standard nutrition
units.
e) Agricultural Productivity based on the total number of
calories available per person ) Agricultural Productivity based on money out put per
hectare ofcropped land.
g) Agricultural Productivity based on money out-put per
agricultural worker.
h) Aggregate Productivity based on all Productivity
methods.
5) To study the spatial and temporal patterns of agricultural
productivity and changes in the productivity pattern in the study
area
6) To delimit the areas of low, medium and high agricultural
productivity in the study region.
7) To give suggestions to increase the agricultural Productivity in
the drought prone region in Maharashtra State.
