Résumé
Field experiment was conducted during December 2011 to April 2012 under Raichur climatic conditions. The performance of micro sprinkler irrigation for groundnut at 60 per cent, 80 per cent, 100 per cent and 120 per cent ET was compared with surface irrigation. The experiment was laid out with groundnut variety R-2001-2 in a Randomized Block Design with five treatments replicated four times with net plot size of 81 m2. The soil of experimental field was sandy loam. The study revealed that maximum water use efficiency of (142.44 kg ha-1 cm-1) at 60 per cent ET followed by (126.46 kg ha-1 cm-1) at 80 per cent ET with micro sprinkler irrigation and minimum of (49.37 kg ha-1 cm-1) with surface irrigation. Irrigating through micro sprinkler at 100 per cent ET (23.86 q ha-1) recorded the highest yield followed by 80 per cent ET (21.60 q ha-1) and 120 per cent ET (20.09 q ha-1) with the water usage of 207.28 mm, 170.83 mm and 243.74 mm which was superior over surface irrigation yielded (19.75 q ha-1) with the usage of 400 mm. The water saved in micro sprinkler over surface irrigation was found to be 66.41%, 57.29%, 48.18% and 39.07% for 60 per cent, 80 per cent, 100 per cent and 120 per cent ET. The uniformity coefficient of the system was 87.69% with 1.4 kg/cm2 pressure. The maximum application efficiency was found in 60 per cent ET (82.80%) followed by 80 per cent ET (82.05%), 100 per cent ET (81.87%), 120per cent ET (80.90%) and surface irrigation (72.70%) respectively. The treatment T3 (100 per cent ET) was found best in terms of yield and growth parameters in sandy soils under semi arid conditions.
