Résumé
Food and medicine are among the top priorities for human survival on this planet. Since the beginning of human civilization man has concentrated on these aspects. Prehistoric man has initially discovered plant food and animal resources as a food source for survival. Later on he discovered medicinal newlineproperties of some plants for keeping his good health. The present scenario of this research for nutritive food for all along with better treatment for various newlinehuman ailments is continued and will be continued forever. Documentation and identification of the natural resources of our country newlinefrom different geographical area is an important aspect in the development of newlinethe country. Search for alternative sources of food and medicine is eternal and newlinewill be continued forever. newlineThe present work is based on the idea of Hippocrates (370 BC) i.e. food newlineis medicine and medicine is food. As per the plant of work a general survey of newline499 angiospermic was conducted, out of these 32 plants are recorded as a new newlinedistributional record. Six (06) plants species are new record to Maharashtra newlineState, five (05) plants species are new record to Vidharbha Region, seven (07) newlineplants species are new record to Nagpur District and eighteen (18) plants newlinespecies are new record to the Chandrapur District. One family Phytolaccaceae is newlineadded to the flora of Nagpur District and two families namely Ranunculaceae newlineand Phytolaccaceae are being the added to flora of Chandrapur District. newlineOut of these 499 plants on the basis of available data, 176 plants are newlinerecorded as nonconventional edible plants and 279 plants are recorded as newlinetraditional medicinal plants. The details about this nonconventional and newlinetraditional medicinal plant are presented herewith.
