In the present study I will find the pollution in Bhategon pond because Bhategon pond water is used for the different purposes like Domestic use (mainly in Bhategon, Dongarada village as well as erigation camp etc) as well as this water is also used for agricultural,fishery culture and in sugar industry hence I will select that pond for study. Pollution ; Pollution means sudden undesirable changes occur which is injurious soil, water and air and health. Water pollution means any undesirable changes occur in water* which is injurious to health called as water* pollution. There flre generally recognised Physical, Chemical and biological pollution of water. 1) Physical Pollution : When the water becomes cloudily due to presence ofsoil or sand. Some plant martial like alga blooms may also be involved. In water presence of phosphate or nitrates encourage the development ofthe blooms. This condition upsets the ecology of water. It is known as eutro phioation. 2) Chemical Pollution : This type of pollution occurs due to addition of inorganic and organic wastage to water. The pollutants are mines copper, metal pipelines, laundry detergents, radioactive waste and nitrates from Insecticides or pesticides etc. Other industrial waste, hospitals, exhaust from automobile, power plants also main sources for chemical pollution. 3) Biological Pollution : this type of pollution develops from bacteria, virus and other micro-organism that enters water from human waste, Food operates, meal packing plants normally heterotrophicyte digest the organic matter to phosphates, nitrates and sulphates, carbohydrates are converted to C02 and H20. There products are useful to plants there arises problem when water is stagnant or is overloaded with waste. A critical ’ factor operating under such a situations the biological oxygen demand (BOD). As the number of organism increases, the demand for 02 increases proportional, Depletion of 02 in water may lead to death of fish and other aquatic oi^anism, a flat taste of water of eventual death of debries. The BOD is there fore an important indication of the levels of biological pollution in the water.
