Objectifs
The present study is aimed to demonstrate the physiological, biochemical and molecular responses of the important legumes - Cajanus cajan and Pongamia pinnata to elevated CO2 and drought. 1. Selection of efficient Pongamia and Pigeonpea accessions based on morphological and physiological characteristics. 2. Deciphering the transcriptome of Pongamia and Pigeonpea using High throughput sequencing to understand various metabolic pathways. 3. To study the interactive responses of drought and elevated CO2 with respect to growth, photosynthetic physiology and antioxidative system. 4. To understand the regulation of photosynthesis by Carbon – Nitrogen coordination under elevated CO2
