Résumé
This thesis aims to give a model to design small hydro power plants for future applications, based on the existing technology. The objective is to consolidate something already established and understand how actual can be an old technology, even in a context of frantic development like the present day. The choice to analyze this project is mostly due, as mentioned above, to the will to give evidence of how an old technology, as the hydroelectric one, can represent one of the most interesting means to reach future objectives, as reduction of pollution and differentiation of energy supply. In fact the hydro power plant technology, being the oldest one, represents, in the alternative energies panorama, the most established technology and also the most reliable and durable. The biggest problem, in hydro history, has always been the environmental impact of the big civil works linked to the dams’ construction. The small hydro eliminated it and made hydro topical again. According to the main thesis objective, a model to design small hydro power plants is given. Here below the 6 main steps in which an HPP project is usually divided are reported : 1. Site identification 2. Prefeasibility study 3. Administrative phase 4. Design procedure and feasibility study 5. Construction phase 6. Tests and operations. This thesis mostly deals with steps 1, 2, 3 and 4, focusing on the design procedure and the feasibility study. During a project, drawbacks may occur and different considerations may be done. For this reason is important to be ready to rethink even the entire design. Drawbacks, as the one occurred in this project, are not always avoidable because often unpredictable. What is necessary is trying to reduce the probability of them occurring.  :
