Descriptif
The present study will bring insight into managmg water, level of participation at household level, water availability and accessibility, awareness of revitalization of water sources, grievance reddressal, community capacity building, and participation in Gram Sabha, attitude on water pricing, conservation and wastage at community level. The study also emphasizes community participation for effective Water Governance practices. Thus the extent of community participation and scope for enhancement could be utilized by administrators to improve the existing practices. Professional Social workers can utilize findings from the study with respect to the nature of involvement in community activities to bring about the necessary changes. The outcome of the study can help to educate the public about the nature of their existing participation in Water Governance and to improve their existing practices, especially practices adopted by women’s groups and other stakeholders such as youth and the weaker sections. The Professional Social Worker can ensure compliance with all those problems of the three water Acts : the Environmental Protection Act (1986), The River Boards Act (1956) and the Inter-State Water Disputes Act (1956), so that the rights of all the members of the community are not violated.
