Résumé
The following specific objectives were put forth for the present investigation. 1. To study various bio-physical and socio-economic aspects of southern and hilly zones of Tamil Nadu and selection of study area. 2. To assess the effects of agronomical practices on Carbon sequestration in orchards having different age group of plants and different agronomic practices. 3. To study the microbial diversity in soils of orchards maintained under different agronomical practices by meta-genomics analysis. 4. Screening, isolation, identification of Carbonic Anhydrase (CA) enzyme producing bacteria from manure and study the potential of Carbon sequestration at laboratory level. 5. Study of carbon sequestration potential through conservative agriculture practices like soil fertility amendments, crop rotation, intercropping maintained at partial irrigation systems.
