Résumé
Investigations on “Seasonal incidence and management of major insect pests of cabbage, Brassica oleracea var. capitata Linn. in semi-arid region of Rajasthan” were carried out at S.K.N. College of Agriculture, Jobner (Rajasthan) and residue laboratory, ARS, Durgapua during Rabi, 2008-09 and 2009-10.The cabbage crop was found to be infested by two major insect pests, viz., aphid, Lipaphis erysimi (Kalt) and diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (L.) during both the years. The infestation of aphid, L. erysimi was started in the last week of November and reached to peak in third and fourth week of January during Rabi 2008-09 and 2009-10, respectively. Whereas, the infestation of diamondback moth was started from the third week of November and reach to peak in the first week of January during both the years. The maximum and minimum temperatures showed significant negative correlation with aphid and larval population of diamondback moth, whereas, relative humidity and sunshine hours showed non significant correlation. The coccinellid predator, C. septempunctata was recorded as a important predator of aphid on cabbage crop, which was maximum in the second and third week of January during 2008-09 and 2009-10, respectively.
