Présentation
Lifesaving WASH services are urgently needed at refugee settlements. Besides covering the initial response cost already incurred since mid-November, UNICEF is aiming at providing emergency WASH service for 62,000 people over the next six months. The WASH engagement includes installation of 27 bladders, 5 Tiga tanks and 3 Oxfam Tanks for water storage and treatment, and replacement of submersible pumps for three boreholes in Um Rakoba to enhance water supply capacity. The project will also provide construction of 300 latrines and rehabilitation of 40 latrines. Hygiene promotion campaigns are planned bi-weekly by trained hygiene promoters, including promotion of COVID-19 preventative behaviors.
