Présentation
With this CERF-funded project, UNICEF provides water, sanitation, hygiene and nutrition activities for conflict-affected people in Tigray and neighboring Afar and Amhara regions of Ethiopia, to reduce mortality and morbidity, especially among children. UNICEF and its partners provide drinking water to 200,000, latrines with hand washing facilities to 70,000, hand washing facilities and soap to 100,000 people, jerry cans, buckets, soap and other items to 10,000 people. UNICEF and its partners also screen 100,000 children for malnutrition, provide 243 tons of therapeutic food, treat 14,000 malnourished children and counsel 50,000 mothers. Overall, the nutrition activities target 64,000 women and children including 10,240 people with disabilities, and the water-related activities target 200,000 people including 29,000 people with disabilities.
