Présentation
With $2.8 million in CERF funding, UNICEF conducts water trucking for 30 days to reach 50,000 drought-affected people with safe water. 6,000 hygiene kits as well as hygiene messages are distributed to support the same 50,000 people. UNICEF screens 242,000 girls and boys for malnutrition and treats 11,000 girls and boys with severe acute malnutrition with ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF). In addition, 53,000 pregnant and lactating women and 500 male caregivers receive counselling on infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practices. 295,000 drought-affected Somalis, including 53,000 women and 123,420 girls, are targeted by the nutrition component of the project.
