Description
In south-eastern Kenya, climate change has manifested itself in increasingly frequent droughts. As population grows, resources are becoming scarcer, giving rise to conflicts between livestock breeders, who need pastures, and farmers, who need agricultural land. Their traditional lifestyles have afforded people here little access to modern knowledge about resource-efficient, sustainable agriculture and animal husbandry. This project provides advice on these topics to 7,200 households, so that they can adjust their working methods to achieve better yields despite droughts and resource scarcity.
