In the Kibera slum in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, Welthungerhilfe’s Skill Up ! vocational training programme offers opportunities to disadvantaged young people. Education plays a major role in Kenya’s ambitious plans to transcend its current status as a developing country. This project offers training programmes for careers in technology, agriculture, and skilled trades as well as professional development opportunities for teaching staff. Courses are developed in cooperation with local businesses, ensuring that the graduates’ skills are needed in the job market.
