When Hand Washing Becomes a Luxury (Sudan)

Titre : When Hand Washing Becomes a Luxury (Sudan)

Pays  : Sudan

Date/Durée : Sep 2020 — Nov 2021

Projet ID : SDN 1183-20

Crises, corruption, and conflicts have gravely undermined Sudan’s economy, and hyperinflation is causing prices to skyrocket. Food, medications, and even water are becoming increasingly expensive. When there is hardly enough water to drink, hand washing becomes a much lower priority. In this project in the country’s east, the focus is therefore on WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) measures, esp. on getting access to safe water. In addition, schools & markets are receiving latrines and hand-washing stations. For those in greatest need, there are also emergency shelters and hygiene supplies.
