Early-Warning Systems Limit Damage From Natural Disasters Pakistan

Pakistan

Titre : Early-Warning Systems Limit Damage From Natural Disasters Pakistan

Pays  : Pakistan

Date/Durée : April 2020 — Dec 2021

Projet ID : PAK 1107-20

Description
Regional droughts, heat waves, and floods are commonplace in Pakistan. The damage they do can be minimised through proactive disaster relief—releasing aid funds as soon as certain conditions are met, even before a disaster strikes. To ensure that this approach is successful, Welthungerhilfe is working together with the START Network in several regions, focussing on making on-site preparations, putting in place early-warning systems, and employing local experts who can predict when and how natural phenomena will develop. Local organisations are then best placed to help the affected people.

Institutional donors  : START Network

Project Budget 2021 : € 114,349
Overall project budget : € 200,110
