Aperçu du projet
Most water resources in the Sahel region are shared resources. Surface water resources, for example Gambia, Senegal and Niger Rivers have Basin Authorities managing the interests of the contiguous countries. Shared underground water resources are a different challenge as data and full information are not easily available. To enhance the management of these transboundary waters efficiently, good national policies are required together with good management practices. UNESCO will support in strengthening capacities for policymaking in the water sector based on evidence and in the utilization of tools developed by the organization (e.g. IHP-WINS). Collaboration with UNESCO Water Chairs shall be used to provide innovative water education approaches for new capacities within the sub-region.

Budget cumulé : US$ 121,500.00
