Pays : Tunisie

Durée : 20-Oct-2016 to 19-Oct-2022

Descriptif
The project "Creation of Microenterprises in the Governorates of Medenine and Tataouine", aims to support the social and economic integration of disadvantaged young people of the two Southern Governorates of Tunisia, and contribute to the resolution of the pressing and urgent issue of unemployment, by helping young people and women from the most vulnerable areas of these regions access the labor market, work and create their businesses. The regions are located along the border with Libya, and the revenues formerly generated by the cross-border trade have considerably decreased, since the beginning of the crisis in Libya. Private investments in Medenine and Tataouine are limited, in addition to the mismatch between needs, qualification and available skills, the strong presence of informal activities and the lack of coaching and financing for business creation, are the main obstacles to the emergence of viable entrepreneurship. The project will be implemented by UNOPS.
