Bureau des Nations Unies pour les services d’appui aux projets (UNOPS)

Titre : Support for the Green Climate Fund in Tunisia

Pays : Tunisie

Durée : 05-Apr-2019 to 31-Jul-2025

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) Readiness programme is a funding programme to enhance country ownership and access to the Fund. It provides resources for strengthening the institutional capacities of National Designated Authorities or focal points and Direct Access Entities to efficiently engage with the Fund. It also assists countries in undertaking adaptation planning and developing strategic frameworks to build their programming with the GCF. Tunisia is one of the Mediterranean countries most vulnerable to climate change. It signed and ratified the UNFCCC in 1992 and 1993 respectively and registered some achievements on both mitigation and adaptation fronts since then. In 2012, Tunisia developed its National Strategy on Climate Change (SNCC) in a bid to try and bring together, in a coherent way, the multiple and varied approaches for addressing climate change issues. UNOPS assists the work of the GCF through grant support management services.

Financement : Green Climate Fund (GCF)

Budget : US$ 339,900
