Shrub shelterbelt in Yulin Sandy Area is an important part of Mu Us sandy land ecosystem,and also an important barrier for regional ecological restoration.It plays an important role in improving the local living environment,reducing the sediment amount of the Yellow River and preventing the southern expansion of Mu Us sandy land,and has brought great ecological,economic and social benefits to the local area.Due to the unreasonable structure of shrub plantation,the lag of tending,the extensive management and the aggravation of drought in sandy area.In recent years,shrub shelterbelts have appeared some phenomena,such as the decrease of shrub and grass diversity,the poor growth and development of shrubs,the dwarf of shrubs and the slow succession of communities,which lead to the decline of stand vitality and the weakening of wind and sand fixation function.In order to improve the effect of shrub shelterbelt construction in Yulin Sandy Area and promote the healthy growth of shrub,it is of great significance to build the health evaluation system of shrub shelterbelt in Yulin Sandy Area.Based on the investigation and analysis of shrub shelterbelt in Yulin Sandy Area,taking domestic and foreign literature as reference,combined with the opinions of experts in related fields and shrub managers,this paper constructs the health evaluation index system of shrub shelterbelt in Yulin Sandy Area.Based on the comprehensive index model of ecosystem health,the health index of shrubbery in Yulin Sandy Area was calculated.The health status of shrubbery in Yulin Sandy Area and the factors influencing the health status of shrubbery were analyzed.Some suggestions for regeneration and rejuvenation of shrubbery in Yulin Sandy Area were put forward.The main conclusions are as follows :(1)Five criteria layer indexes,including stand vitality,community structure,protection function,habitat conditions and disturbance factors,and 17 index layer indexes,including ground diameter,biomass,shrub crown width,species diversity,shrub density,number of regeneration seedlings,coverage,windbreak efficiency,sand fixation function,available nitrogen,available phosphorus,available potassium,slope position,soil water content,diseases and pests,human and livestock disturbance were constructed the health evaluation index system of shrub shelterbelt in Yulin Sandy Area.(2)The maximum value of health index of shrub shelterbelt in the survey area is 0.7272,the minimum value is 0.3429,and the average value is 0.5277.79.73% of the shrubbery plots were in the state of moderate degradation,and there were no healthy shrubbery plots.On the whole,the shrubbery shelterbelts were in the state of moderate degradation.(3)The results show that the shrubbery in the botanical garden of the study area is in a state of mild degradation,and the shrubbery in other areas is in a state of moderate degradation ;the health index of Amorpha fruticosa forest and mixed forest is higher,and the health status is better ;the health status of shrubbery is different under different slope positions,and the health status of slope bottom is the best ;stubble can significantly improve the health status of shrubbery.(4)Climate,soil texture,micro topography,human and animal interference,management and other factors have significant effects on the health status of shrub shelterbelt in Yulin Sandy Area.(5)Combined with the health status of shrub shelterbelt in the study area,some suggestions were put forward,such as replanting and replanting,adjustment and transformation,flat stubble tending,enclosure and management and improved irrigation.
