Sommaire
In addressing the broad subject of flash flood forecasting in arid regions, this work focuses on calibration and input variables for hydro-meteorological models. Flood forecasting in arid climates presents a unique challenge due to high spatial and temporal uncertainty in the development of desert storms. This level of uncertainly in flash flood forecasting, together with the rarity and unexpected nature of such events, often leads to severe consequences, economic damages and loss of lives. These damages can be avoided or mitigated only with advanced warning from highly accurate, well calibrated hydro-meteorological models. — From the Abstract
