Résumé
Capparis decidua is an annual herbaceous plant, and it is one of the plants that bloom in the winter season. In this study, the branches of the plant were extracted using two different solvents, n-hexane and ethanol (80%). The percentage of the each extract was found . Compounds were identified by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. A total of eight Compounds were detected : Hexadecanoic acid methyl ester (5.78%) ,9-12-Octadecadienoic acid (Z,Z)-,methyl ester (1.69%) ,9-Octadecenoic,acid (Z)-,methyl ester (88%) ,Phytol (10.15%) ,E-3-Pentadecen-2-ol (3.54%) , n-Tetracosanol-1 (6.77%) , Campesterol (8.31%) , .beta.-Sitosterol(62.89%). A chemical survey was conducted for extracts (80%) ethanol which resulted in the presence of flavonoids, saponin, alkaloids, terpenes, tannins, phenols, glucosides, quinines, steroids, carbohydrates and coumarins. Bio-assay in-vitro experiments were conducted with ethanol extract to assess the the efficacy against four types of bacteria. The results showed that the ethanol extract showed activity bacteria ranging (12-13mm) and fungi (12-13mm). The antioxidant efficacy activity test result indicated that the ethanol extract did not demonstrate oxidative activity. This study explains that there are many phytochemical compounds in this plant there fore other studies could be done to obtain more compounds and its uses
