The climate of inland river basins in the arid region of Northwest China are dry and lack of water resources,and artificial irrigation is usually used to provide the water needed for crop growth.With the continuous increase of the population,in order to meet the growing demand for food,the area of cultivated cropland will continue to expand,and the competition between ecological water and agricultural water will increase.At the same time,the over-exploitation of water resources will cause an imbalance in the relationship between humans,natural resources and the environment,which may lead to serious socio-economic and ecological problems in the entire region,and all river basins are facing challenges in water resources management.Vegetation is an important element of the ecological environment in arid areas and the basic content of ecological monitoring in arid regions.Irrigated cropland is the basic content of agricultural water monitoring in inland river basins in arid areas.Vegetation and irrigated cropland respectively represent the two main aspects of water resources utilization in inland river basins.Monitoring vegetation and irrigated area changes,for understanding the agricultural water and ecological water,rationally planning the farming system and ecological forest planting ratio,and balancing economic development with ecological protection food security,which is of great significance to realize the sustainable development of the river basin.In summary,this study chose the Heihe River Basin as the research region,based on the GEE(Google Earth Engine)platform to study the change trend and continuity characteristics of vegetation from 2000 to 2020,developed an automatic remote sensing extraction method for irrigated cultivated land,and completed the mapping of irrigated cultivated land from 1990 to 2020,and analyzed the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics and change trends of irrigated cultivated land in different periods.In order to provide basic data for river basin hydrological model research,irrigation water evaluation and water resource management,and provide reference for remote sensing monitoring of irrigated cropland in inland river basins in other arid regions.
