The sandstone and kaolinitic clay rocks of the Permo-Triassic (Qiseib Formation) exposed at Abu Darag-Qiseib area extend parallel to the western coast of the Gulf of Suez covering 50 km2. These rocks were quarried by the RHI (Reliance Heavy Industries) Quarry for the benefit of Arabian Cement Company (ACC) plant (located at 29 47’ 43” N, 32 08’ 33” E, north of El Sukhna old road).
