Résumé
Nowadays, we have limited energy sources, and the world demand on electrical power is increasing.
Thus, our reliance on fossil energy sources is diminishing and has come to an end. In addition, when
fossil fuels are converted into electricity, they cause pollution. Therefore, it is important to look for an
alternative energy source, which is a clean solar energy. One of the methods of utilizing solar energy is
photovoltaic cells (PV) which can directly convert sunlight into electricity.
Solar energy is widely used and considered an important source because of a considerable amount of
clean energy that can be produced. Many studies are interested in developing solar energy especially in
regions where sunlight is available most of the year. The power produced by solar system depends on
certain weather conditions such as sun irradiation, temperature, and humidity. Therefore, studying the
effect of these parameters on producing solar energy has become a need.
This study examined the performance of solar system in Irbid and Amman cities according to
environmental data obtained from National Center for Research and development during 2015.It
investigated the performance of photovoltaic system, taking into consideration weather conditions. It
also examined how the efficiency of solar system changes in accordance with changes in irradiation
and temperatures.
