Résumé
This study was performed to assess the sprinkler irrigation systems usage and irrigation strategies for peanut farmlands situated at Kadirli vicinity of Osmaniye. In result, whole sprinkler irrigation systems were found portable types having sprinklers with no risers. Water distribution was found satisfactory due to the sufficient pressure heads within the systems. All sprinkler irrigation systems were operated by tractors using diesel oil. By comparison to the electricity as a power supply, diesel resulted remarkable increase in irrigation energy cost. In region, seasonal mean number of the irrigation for peanut crop was found as 4. The total seasonal applied water varied from 210 mm to 278 mm depending on the characteristics o f sprinklers. Irrigation interval was found as about 16-17 day during the full cover of plants. The most important problem relevant to the agricultural water management was poor infrastructures of some irrigation canals. Average seed yield of peanut in research areas was found as 3150-3500 kg/haand by this present status, Çukurova region has resulted better seed performance just like leading producer countries worldwide. Fortunately, pea nut price was satisfactory after the harvest season of 2019 and this price should be at least like price of 2019 and increase in future for sustainable pea nut productions in region.
