Résumé
Beginning from the year 2000, the source areas of Yellow Sand have moved further to the east, and as a result, Yellow Sand has had a greater and more severe effect to the Korean Republic. In order to reduce the negative effects of Yellow Sand Phenomenon, there has been a rising interest in the desertfied regions, especially towards China because of its geographic proximity to Korea. Inner Mongolia, which accounts for 40% of the desert regions in China, consists of the main desert regions, one of which is the Kubuqi Desert. There has been a surprisingly low number of desertification studies on the Kubuqi Desert, which is the only desert that is located in an agro-pastoral transitional zone in China, compared to that of other desert regions. There have been only a few number of researches on the Kubuqi Desert, focusing on combating desertification such as afforestation and restoration of grassland. This shows a great necessity on implementing more research based on analyzing the effects of desertification. the purpose of this study is to have a better understanding of the effects of dynamic temporal-spatial changes in the Kubuqi Desert and its adjacent regions in Inner mongolia. So 1 describes the study of the fluctuation of desertification areas by analyzing the land cover change. In order to assess the status of desertification, 4 multi-temporal Landsat images taken in accordance with the administrative boundary in 1977/79(mosaic image), 1991, 2002 and 2007 have been acquired and Remote Sensing and GIS were used for the analyses. The results of the land cover change shows that the area of desert and bare land" in this region have increased beginning from the late 1970s to 1991. 까is increase in desertified land is mainly due to the decrease of vegetation such as grassland" and shrubland" . However, from 1991 to 2007, the land cover of desert and bare land" has decreased, thereby resulting in an increase in grassland and shrubland" . π1Ì shows that the current state of desertification has declined. 1 believe that this study will be a great deal of help towards policies based on the restoration of desertified lands and its ecosystems. Furthermore, 1 hope that this study can contribute in reducing the Yellow Sand Phenomenon, which is showing to be a hazard towards the Republic of Korea and its people.
