Descriptif
The project titled “Support the economy of the Palestinian agricultural and rural cooperatives led by women and small farmers to recover from the economic crisis in a smart and sustainable approach (ECSS)” is funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and being implemented by the Applied Research Institute – Jerusalem (ARIJ).
The main objective of the project aims at supporting social-economic agricultural initiatives (women’s groups/cooperatives, small-sized farmers, and youth) to become more resilient to crisis and having marketing channels. Accordingly, the project will work on achieving the following specific objectives : To make 5 agricultural small-sized farmers, and women’s cooperatives more productive, better management based on business investment approach ; To enhance the marketability and competitiveness of 10 main agro-food products in the Palestinian market using innovative and effective mechanisms ; and Establish 1 innovative and sustainable marketing system based on social business approach.
The project is expected to achieve the following main output : Start-up marketing company established and well-functioning in marketing the agro-food commodities produced by the Palestinian coops with the presence of enabling elements for its sustainability.
