Pays /Région : Mozambique
Localisation : Zambezia province

Descriptif
Adventist Development and Relief Agency Canada is supporting Adventist Development and Relief Agency Mozambique with a three-year development agriculture and livelihood project in Zambezia Province, Mozambique.

The area regularly faces shock that are detrimental to a region highly dependent on agriculture for food and their livelihoods. Shocks include climate change resulting in irregular moisture levels and population pressure causing deforestation of key ecosystems. Farmers also struggle to access sufficient inputs and post-harvest technologies to grow and store sufficient crops. As a result, many households struggle to produce enough food year-round resulting in food insecurity.

Over three years, this project aims to strengthen livelihoods, increase household abilities to face shocks and improve the inclusion of and equality of women by training farmers on climate-smart agriculture practices, marketing, and the importance of gender equality. Farmers will also be provided with vouchers to help purchase sufficient inputs.

Over the three years, the project aims to work with 1,250 households and their members (6,250 people).
