Pays /Région : Pakistan
Date : January 2022 – December 2023
Descriptif
Presbyterian World Service & Development is supporting CWS Asia to implement a project in Umerkot district, Sindh province in Pakistan.
Umerkot has been highly affected by the effects of climate change – including both regular droughts and flooding. In addition, communities have experienced the negative impact of COVID-19, further challenges to agriculture (such as increased pests and soil salinity), and the loss of livestock to drought and disease.
The project will provide in-kind food assistance for 6 months to 1,125 households. It will also provide agricultural inputs, provide livestock, conduct training on climate-smart agriculture and livestock rearing, establish kitchen gardens, and support alternative livelihoods by supporting women artisans with training and improved access to markets. In total, the project aims to reach over 23,000 people.
