Descriptif
The role of PS T2 is to provide technical assistance to the Regional Project Coordination Unit (URCP) based at CILSS and the Project Management Units (PMU) of the 6 PARIIS countries, and to ensure the capacity building of actors, through the following main functions : * Advisory support to actors and structures to facilitate the implementation of PARIIS activities based on the experience of the PS but also on the analyses and tools developed * Training of actors involved in the implementation and control of the implementation of irrigation solutions * Support for monitoring and quality control intended to make proposals for improvement when appropriate in the planning and implementation of sub-projects * Capitalization in order to document irrigation solutions, good practices and make them available to actors and structures in the field * Support to CILSS in order to strengthen its capacities to play its role of providing services to Sahel countries on the theme of agricultural water (support for the institutionalization of solutions, their dissemination, advocacy and mobilization. of financial resources for the sector

Activités
The main activities that have been identified to support CILSS are : * Diagnosis and analysis of type 2 solutions * Advice and technical support * Initial training and training of trainers, including training preparation * Monitoring and evaluation * Capitalization and production of a solution workbook * Support of the knowledge management process * Advocacy support

The activities are planned for 30 months and organized in three phases : (1) an initial phase of 6 months ; (2) a 12-month phase of consolidation of the results of the diagnosis and (3) a 12-month institutionalization phase. PST2 entered service on March 15, 2021.

Objectifs
The objective of the PARIIS project is to improve the capacity of stakeholders to develop and manage irrigation, and to increase the areas irrigated by following a regional approach based on “irrigation solutions” in the six participating countries (Burkina Faso , Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal and Chad). The consortium led by Practica is a strategic partner (PS T2) of CILSS to support the implementation of type 2 irrigation solutions (small-scale irrigation solutions).
