Within the larger project of UNICEF Mali and PROTOS, PRACTICA has given technical assistance on manual drilling techniques and professionalisation of the sector with its different government, private and NGO partners.

2013-2014 : Introduction, testing and getting acceptance of manual drilling – including capacity development of different actors.
2014-2016 : Drilling of 138 wells, monitoring and quality control and inclusion of manual drilling in government plans.

* Selection and training of technicians and workshop managers for manufacturing of manual drilling kits * Training of local companies on manual drilling techniques and geohydrology * Technical support, monitoring and quality control * Training in business management and response to calls for tenders * Support to the establishment of management committees for new water points

To contribute to the reduction of waterborne diseases in the Mopti, Koulikoro, Sikasso and Kayes regions through sustainable access to drinking water infrastructure in rural areas through innovative manual drilling techniques.

Budget : Total 1,546,146 euro – 96% financed by UNICEF and 6% by PROTOS.
